Thank you so much for choosing to volunteer with us and support our mission of
connecting the abused, neglected or discarded companion animal with a lifetime of safety, health & happiness.

Things to Know

about being a Kane's Mission Volunteer

1. We ask that you review the Volunteer Handbook before your first shift.

2. We appreciate your time and ask that you respect ours by communicating and keeping whatever commitments you may make.

3. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We have many ways younger animal lovers can help support our mission. You can explore them below!

There Are So Many Ways to Help

Specific Roles

We currently have specific roles we are looking to fill!

These are typically more skill specific and require a minimal time commitment of 5-10 hours a week.

If you're looking to lend your specific skills to helping our organization #Rescue.Love.Repeat,

Other Ways to Help

Events

Community outreach is a crucial aspect of the work we do and we can't do it without you! Attend events with us and help us engage with the public about the work we do, why it's important and how they can get involved. Attending events may also mean we'll need your support in handling our rescue animals and introducing them to potential adopters!

Transport/Field Trips

Many times our rescues will need transport to and/or from vet appointments or adoption events. Here, you can sign up for transport shifts which supports the health and well being of our rescue animals. You can also volunteer to take the animals on 'field trips'. Getting them out of the house on walks or dog parks etc. helps us to gain understanding of each animals needs, enriches their lives and supports our foster families!

Social Media/Marketing

We always need fresh photos and content for social media. If you've taken photos at events or are a foster with photos for us to share, please upload them by pressing the button below! We're open to any and all help or suggestions in this realm. If you have any ideas, please share by contacting us at [email protected]!

Fundraising

Are you really good at networking and connecting to people? Do you have lots of creative ideas and drive? Any ideas, suggestions or hook ups you may have to support our fundraising efforts, is greatly appreciated!

Opportunities for Kids & Teens

Animal lovers of all ages can help save lives with Kane's Mission!

We ask that anyone who will be handling an animal with us be at least 18 years of age.

That being said, we love to inspire and engage with younger volunteers and do offer service hours and will work with parents to find the right role for their child(ren).

Below are additional ways kids & teens can help support Kane's Mission!

Organize a Fundraiser

With each donation, Kane's Mission is able to save more lives. You can help by
planning a fundraising event or

collecting donations
from your friends and family! Collect your donations around a birthday or special occasion to celebrate in a meaningful way.

Plan A Supply Drive

Kane's Mission wish list
is full of supplies needed to save more lives and care for the animals in our care. Supplies can be collected and locally delivered or shipped to us. Please contact us at [email protected] for help organizing!

Spread the Word

Word of mouth is by far the greatest way to help our adoptables find their forever homes! By sharing photos of our rescues, or by telling others about Kane's Mission's Facebook and
Instagram, you can help connect more animal lovers to our mission of saving as many lives as possible.

Make Cat Toys at Home

There are several cat toys that are simple to make from home with materials you likely already have laying around! You can
find instructions to make several toys here.

Make a Snufflemat for Dogs

Snufflemats make great enrichment toys for our dogs! All dogs benefit from keeping their minds busy. Here’s an easy DIY tutorial
on how your child or teen can make one of

these fun feeding mats right from home.

Become a Foster Family

Kane's Missin is a completely foster-based rescue, which means we need families like YOURS to help us take care of the animals we rescue. Your family will receive all the supplies and support needed to care for your foster pet during the foster period, which vary depending on each pet’s needs.
